Project: World Service On the Inside
The Transmission of the Great Invocation

Friends and fellow practitioners, for most of us, our daily spiritual practices are focused mainly upon our own personal development. However, in addition to this, we must also cultivate our ability to care for others; learning to selflessly serve the welfare of all living beings. There are many ways for us to accomplish this. We may offer our care and assistance to others through wise and compassionate words and actions. We may also offer our loving service and benefit others by the immense power of our united thoughts, prayers, and positive intentions. Joining together to serve in this way always generates the results of goodness and benefits all beings everywhere.

As we observe the present condition of our world, it is evident there is a great need for those who serve the welfare of humanity in all possible ways. In light of this need, we would like you to consider participating in Project: World Service On The Inside. This is a noble opportunity to join forces with a worldwide group of practitioners offering a vital service for the healing and awakening of humanity.

This introduction letter is being sent to prisoners throughout the United States. We would like to link up with sincere individuals who wish to participate in this service, and with project leaders who are inspired to coordinate world service groups on the inside. Project: World Service On The Inside requires only a single individual or a small group of people, willing to offer a dedicated daily transmission of the Great Invocation. This noble service is quiet and selfless, yet offers tremendous spiritual benefit to humanity and especially to those who participate with sincerity.

The Great Invocation

Why are we using the Great Invocation and what is its significance? The momentous significance of the Great Invocation is that through its dedicated use, it provides an inflow of spiritual energy right to the very heart of humanity, from the highest sources. The Great Invocation does not represent any one individual, group, or religion. It can be shared with everyone no matter what their beliefs may be. This ancient and powerful Invocation belongs to all of humanity. The Great Invocation is a world prayer, translated into over seventy-five languages. Tens of thousands of people around the world are using this Invocation every day. The Great Invocation is an instrument of power, and to use it is an act of loving service to all human beings.

The effect of the Great Invocation is increased immeasurably when there is a conscious alignment with others who use this Invocation on a daily basis. It is for this reason we want to organize individuals and world service groups on the inside who will join together with others around the world in this service. We have the ability, through the force of our united invocation, to release divine energies and affect world events. The collective strength of many dedicated individuals and groups, focused through the use of this potent Invocation, creates a network of light, love, and spiritual power around the planet. Working together, each and every one of us becomes an important and essential part of a larger family who assists and brings benefit to this world.

In reference to the word 'God' in the Great Invocation, even if this word is not part of your personal religious language, simply consider it to indicate the True Self of Hindu teachings, the selfless Buddha Nature of Buddhism, the Father to Whom Christ referred, and the Higher Power of twelve-step teachings.

Project: World Service On the Inside

* You may participate in this service by yourself, or consider asking others to join with you in creating a world service group on the inside. Either by yourself, or with your group, please know that your heartfelt intentions will join forces with others around the world in this noble service. Each person who is interested should receive the project introduction letter and a Great Invocation card. The Great Invocation cards are available in most languages. Use the address on the back of the card if you have a request for one in a language other than English.

* If you are participating in this service by yourself, choose a specific time to offer the transmission of the Great Invocation on a regular basis. If you have created a world service group, have all practitioners agree upon a specific time so you can align your hearts, minds, and intentions for the transmission. This could be a set time at night or in the morning before arising (or even both). Practitioners in the group do not necessarily need to gather in the same location. Your hearts and minds will be united simply by transmitting the Great Invocation at the chosen time, no matter where you are physically located. In addition, using the Great Invocation at any time during the night or day as a prayer or mantra is also very powerful.

* At the specific time(s) you choose for yourself, or for the world service group: 1) Quiet and relax your mind and heart in a meditative way. 2) Silently (or aloud if possible) speak/transmit the Great Invocation. Visualize light, love, and the power of goodwill entering the hearts and minds of people everywhere, while generating a feeling of love and compassion. 3) Stay focused with your visualization and feeling of compassion, repeating the Invocation continuously for approximately 10 to 15 minutes. If your attention wanders, simply bring your mind back to the words of the Invocation. Each day, take a few moments to reflect on the Great Invocation in an effort to understand and align with its profound meaning.

* For Project: World Service On The Inside to benefit all beings, we should develop a feeling of dedication to this service/practice in the same way we do toward our more familiar and traditional spiritual practices. While repeating the Great Invocation, regard the words as being a sacred mantra or prayer. This can lead your awareness through the ordinary levels of mere repetition into the potent spiritual dimensions behind the words. In this illumined domain, you can experience being an active and integral part of a vast network of world servers engaged in the Great Work of awakening humanity.

What Can We Accomplish?

We may wonder, what can one individual or one small group on the inside accomplish? Although it may be challenging, each of us must let go of our sense of isolation and futility—fully realizing there are vast numbers of people whose hearts and minds are already joined together in this service worldwide. In this way, we are part of a very real global community or sangha. Although this community of servers may not be in contact with one another or even know each other personally, the heartfelt service that each of us offers is highly effective and influential.

Those of us participating in Project: World Service On The Inside would like to inspire individuals and world service groups to practice the transmission of the Great Invocation in prisons nationwide. If you would like to be a project leader and organize a group at your facility, or if you simply want to share this information with others, please contact us and we will send you introduction letters (which include the Great Invocation card). If you create a world service group at your facility, please write to us and let us know how many people are in your group. We will add this information to our project records.

Let us move forward with dedication and perseverance
in the Great Work of serving the awakening of humanity.
